JBP – Your Toner Guy

  • Founded in 1988, JBP is a distributor of printer and fax supplies serving customers across a variety of industries. The co-owner of JBP recognized that this was the time to begin marketing online.
  • A website, yourtonerguy.com was designed, created, and launched. The site, built with WordPress, is intended to present the reasons for buying supplies from JBP – emphasizing quality, price, easy ordering, personal service, and free next-day delivery.

Segal Consulting – Family Business Consulting

  • Segal Consulting was referred to me to help with their website, which was hacked. The security breach caused their email account to be blacklisted and they were unable to send and receive email until my involvement. I was able to troubleshoot their website, propose, and implement a fast and low-cost solution. They were back up and running within 2 days.
  • After cleaning up their website and installing additional security and backup measures, the owner was able to focus on the need to take his website to the next level. I proposed and created an all-new website built with WordPress.

Business Networking Group: BNI – Farmington Hills Chapter

  • Challenge: This chapter had only the standard boilerplate website provided by BNI. The website did not allow for addition of content, control of formatting, or any advanced features. As an active networking chapter, there is a need to support a high level of interaction and participation.
  • Challenge 2: The site has an additional important audience of potential members. The site needs to be a “selling tool” to help recruit new members.

Law Offices

  • Type of business: Law firm specializing in labor and employment law, collections, immigration
  • Challenge: New website needed to replace an outdated one that needed to be updated by the web developer. New site needs to have a fresh, contemporary, and professional look. Needs to be capable of easy updates by non-technical law firm staff. Needs to have an integrated blogging capability instead of a separate platform.

Campaign Website – City Council

  • Type of customer: Candidate for Farmington Hills, Michigan, City Council CandidateBring out the voters
  • Challenge: Fast turnaround and low budget. Timing and good communications is a critical success factor in politics at any level. The candidate recognized the need to have a website and to promote it in his offline communications.
  • Work performed: A WordPress website was quickly built as a powerful and nimble platform to communicate effectively. A number of online forms were created to encourage supporters to lend a hand and get the word out.

Oakland County Treasurers’ Association

  • Type of business: Professional organization
  • Challenge: The Oakland County Treasurers’ Association had no website. The 100+ members of the group all work for different municipalities and financial institutions throughout the county and meet infrequently. The association has no physical headquarters or even central phone system. They wanted to find better ways to communicate between members and the general public.
  • Work performed: Gather and collect content in person, by phone, and email. Organize and publish content including news, announcements, helpful resources, and a members directory. A second stage of the project will include advanced communication capabilities that act as a members-only social network.

Commercial Printer

  • Type of business: Full line of printing services and direct mail services for business, medical, construction and much more
  • Challenge: Their self-created website was not pulling in any customers and the site could not be found with the major search engines
  • Solution: Created a brand new WordPress Content Management System (CMS) website. Includes more content and much more flexibility in displaying content to drive customers to buy. Ongoing training, maintenance, and support.

Party Assurance

  • Type of business: Day of the event party management. They orchestrates all the details for the day of major events such as weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs.
  • Challenge: Their services are in very high demand and the owner needed a website to support marketing of her services. Owner is extremely busy with no time to update the website.
  • Solution: HTML website explaining their services and featuring the testimonials of their delighted customers. Strong branding features custom graphics and colors of the “Red Coat Ladies” as they are known for – perhaps more than the company name, Party Assurance. We maintain the site, update testimonials, and monitor website traffic.

  • Update: This site has generated great traffic and scores of referrals for the owner. A new, more fully-featured WordPress website is in the process of being designed.

Jennifer’s Cafe

  • Type of business: Popular neighborhood cafe that gets great reviews since it opened 25+ years ago
  • Challenge: Customers of this popular restaurant have asked, almost daily, if the menu was on their website. But there was no website. Owners saw no other real need to join the  online generation since business has been very steady without any marketing except for work-of-mouth.
  • Primary objective was to create a website so that the menu could be published online in response to customer demand
  • Solution provided: An attractive static HTML website with a downloadable menu in response to customer demand. Pages feature customer favorites and photos of the cafe and menu items.
  • Website reflects the nature of this establishment – low key, old fashioned, low tech with no flash, no fads, no coupons and no gimmicks. Just great quality, service and values. – Just what the customer ordered!
  • Owner reports being “thrilled” with the results and that website far exceeded his expectations. Their customers have also reported being pleased to see the menu online so they can decide what to order before coming in.
  • Monitoring of website traffic reveals an unexpectedly high amount of web activity for a small neighborhood establishment.

  • Update: This site has generated great traffic. A new WordPress site has been proposed for even better results and easier updating.

Political Candidate – US Congress

  • Type of site: Campaign site for candidate for U.S. Congress
  • Challenge: Develop site with a minimal budget and full features needed
  • Solution: Created a WordPress website the features that the candidate is able to update himself. Consulted on communication strategies. Copy editing, graphic design, online payment integration. Google Analytics.
  • CursonForCongress.com was successful in helping the candidate get elected to congress. The campaign is over but more are beginning. If you need a website for a candidate… or for another cause, just give us a call.

  • Type of business: Adult day care center startup
  • Challenge: Establish a web presence for a newly established business to attract new customers

Kimberley North Improvement Association

  • Type of organization: Non-profit (neighborhood association)
  • Challenge: The earlier HTML website was becoming increasingly difficult to keep updated and depended on one person with the software, skills, and time to maintain the site.
  • Solution: WordPress Content Management System including blog and email newsletter
  • Integrated email marketing to 180+ email newsletter subscribers out of 250 homes. When newsletters
  • Blog to keep community informed and involved in the community
  • Future plans include empowering board and community members to publish and maintain content

Plumbing and Heating Company

  • Type of business: Family owned plumbing business (founded over 60 years ago) seeking to increase customer base. Competition amongst plumbers is extremely high and advertising is very costly.
  • Challenge: Owner wants to create a website to attract customers and seeks an affordable alternative to the costly websites created by the Yellow Pages.
  • Status: This site will be redesigned.
